OCLE - p1
Outstanding Contribution to Local Education”

The idea for this award came about after seeing internationally-recognised figures
at Conference 2010 being awarded for their contribution to education.

We thought - why not do one for Wigan?

We wanted ANYONE who worked in Wigan schools to be able to win it,
so we decided at the outset that the recipient did not have to be an NUT member.
In fact, the recipient does not even have to be a teacher!
He / she might be, for example, an HLTA, Governor or volunteer.

The only criterion, as the award specifies, is that this person has to have made
an outstanding contribution to local education in Wigan.
